Nice photo Mick. The amount of stone that is below ground level is heavier than the amount above. The weight of one gatepost would be about 1800lbs.

Interesting photo,I lived in Dawson Ave and Laburnum Grove for a number of years but don't remember this building Where is it. Maybe beyond where the old railway tracks were.

Thanks Maureen and Mick I did find it on Google earth. Mind you when I lived in beech hill I never ventured down that end cos I had no clogs

Maureen, back in the day there were a lot of fights in certain areas by people wearing clogs. they kicked the heck out of each other and that part of beech hill was pretty rough
