The old Gathurst Road ran to the left of the current bridge

Malc the old section of Gathurst still runs to the left of the current bridge, but this bridge is in Springs road Kit Green and theres still a little bit of the old Springs road on the right of the photo

Apologies Mick- should have gone to Specsavers! I do remember about springs road bridge there was a path which ran alongside the M6 which brought you out near the Vale Royal - a good short cut when at John Rigby

Mick, can I just correct you.... it is Spring Road not Springs at Kitt Green (although postal address is Orrell).

Spring Road, not Springs Road.

Compare this with item #29024 (Work M6 Motorway) from 20-09-1962 under my name.Leonard Fairclough Ltd built the bridge, Sir Alfred McAlpine constructed Spring Road. Our offices was just up from the bridge.
