Canal in Martland Mill
I like Mick's photos. They are always of the real world.
Good pic Mick. The horse seems interested in the boat, the boaters are having a good time and the three walkers are just horsing around. Is that building closed up?
I like this. This is the Wigan I grew up in, the Wigan I loved and love still...a mix of industry, canals and fields.
Untidy canal.
Alan (over there) Everyones photos on here are of the real world, where else do they take them, Narnia ?
There's a lot going on here for the nosy horse to see! It's a lovely picture it looks very tranquil.
No Ken, Green's carpets, beds, etc is still open, Travis Perkins building materials next door which was originally Mayalls is closed.
When we used to catch the bus down to Christopher Park in the sixties those three wouldn't get away with walking in the middle of the road.:)
I've lost my bearings on this pic. The three walkers are on what road??
It is the old road into SLG. Past the Woodhouse Inn I think. It was replaced quite a long while ago.
It it on Woodhousw Lane, just past the bridge over the canal. This used to be the main route through from Newtown to Beech Hill. Still there in all its glory, just not a main route any more.
