Gidlow Coalwash remains
A brilliant place with a nice walk at The side up to Standing.
What powerful but unrecorded race
once dwelt in that annihilated place.
Horace Smith. 1779 - 1849
Mick, take the trees away and it looks like Tenerife.
Bod, take the trees way and it will look like the moon! Ozzy, I like that reference.
Without the trees, it's almost a lunar landscape.
Interesting photo Mick.
Or, in retrospect, maybe I should have
called it a volcanic landscape.
It's still an interesting photo, nevertheless!
Irene, that is where i thought I had landed when i went there several years ago.
Apart from the trees it looks to me like the aftermath of WW1.
Most seem to be in favour of a lunar landscape- do we all remember the quote?
"one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind"? Brilliant!
