Ashurst Beacon
Great photo, however can you actually see the beacon. Mind you the trees wouldn't have been as tall in the middle ages.
A flask and some butties and I could spend some time on the grass admiring that view ,nice one Ron .
The Beacon is just out of view behind the trees on the left
I remember an Ashurst Beacon when there were no trees, it was wild & windy. It was said that on a fine day you could see the sun shining on the sea at Southport.
Beautiful scenery lovely Ron.
More than likely there would have been more trees covering the land in the middle ages I would imagine Derek. It's a beautiful view .
Helen of Troy you can still see the sea from there, and on the top of Parbold hill.
I remember the BBC always parking a outside broadcast van on top of Ashurst beacon when the Grand National was on.
What a lovely peaceful shot Ron..thank you.
