He's still pondering after all these years and if that's the message you get then the sculptor did a brilliant job! No mistaking Wigan Park - its nice to be reminded now and again!

when I was in Wigan a couple of weeks ago I did notice that Powell's shoe wasn't as shiny as it used to be. Is the tradition dying out?

I love to see little children rubbing the shoe as I did so long ago, and I hope all their wishes come true.

Kath the statue as just bee refurbished because parts of it had holes in including the shiny bit of shoe.
