Hotel Haigh Hall exit
I like it. When was the lamp columns
erected. let's hope vandals leave them alone.
Well that's a little place.....I thought Haigh Hall was a big 'un.
Time to go back to bed.
Another nice one Ron. I have never seen that view before, or the lodge. Was it built after I emigrated in the early 1970's ?
(OMG am I that old !?)
I wonder if they are planning to paint those lamp posts in the old Wigan corporation colours of cream and maroon.
I can see the maroon trim as been done already.
I like the old-fashioned lamps. Haigh Hall is going to look nicer and more traditional outside than in, it would seem.
It's a shame that all the rhododendrons have been ripped out.
I suspect the Rhododendrons have been cleared because of Health & Safety.
I like the photo, and I have a question. You say this is the exit shot, now if you had turned around would this then have been an entry shot or are there two driveways one an entry and one an exit.
Rhododendrons are an invasive species

The red adornments were added later to the bog standards-stanchions.
Note the ladder rests that would have been on gas lamps.
More red lead than maroon!
Another great pic from Ron.
