Bless him, you would think someone would tell him wouldn't you?

Comment by: Alan on 16th March 2017 at 00:51

Dave Oy can we have some birds please!

Comment by: Garry on 16th March 2017 at 02:36

Street clutter, looks nothing like Elvis and most importantly sounds nowt like him. Go and get a job like the rest of us.

Comment by: Ken R on 16th March 2017 at 03:40

Yeck!! I hated Elvis when he was alive and I sure don't like his so called look alikes. Do you think this might be Mick??

Comment by: Alan lad on 16th March 2017 at 06:55

Very unsightly to put it mildly .

Comment by: Veronica on 16th March 2017 at 07:17

He's the worst parody of Elvis I have ever seen! What's more he looks worse than Elvis at his worst! Can he sing?

Comment by: JJP on 16th March 2017 at 07:59

For Goodness sake ! this chap is just enjoying himself and I've no doubt he brings a smile to many a sad person. It is written that you shouldn't speak of anyone in a derogatory fashion, however, there are exceptions to every rule and this is one of them.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 16th March 2017 at 08:13

Alan - some local budgies coming for you soon :)

He's having a go! Good for him I say :)

Although sometimes my deafness isn't a bad thing haha!

Comment by: Mick on 16th March 2017 at 08:30

You can hear Elvis singing and see his wiggles by copying and pasting this YouTube link

Comment by: Veronica on 16th March 2017 at 08:46

He looks like Mrs Brown in a different wig!
At least he isn't begging and making an effort to earn some money.....he probably makes quite a lucrative living.

Comment by: AB on 16th March 2017 at 08:52

Another example of deposited rubbish littering our streets

Comment by: Jonno on 16th March 2017 at 09:40

He looks 'All shook up' to me.

Comment by: irene roberts on 16th March 2017 at 10:27

Is it trick-or-treat time already?!

Comment by: Pete rammy on 16th March 2017 at 10:40

He's no harm, just enjoying himself.Much better to look at than the scum sitting in sleeping bags all around the town centre.

Comment by: WILLY WACKUM on 16th March 2017 at 11:50

Was he selling CD's?

Comment by: Maureen on 16th March 2017 at 14:21

Leave the lad alone,he's doing his best.😂 lol

Comment by: Chen on 16th March 2017 at 14:22

Ken R, he gooder looker than Mick, and better wiggy too.

Comment by: Howard P on 16th March 2017 at 16:46

Police should move them on.

Comment by: APB_Girl on 16th March 2017 at 17:04

Its really sad that people assume this man is doesn't work and is making money for himself. He is a lovely man and all the money he makes goes towards support dementia and Alzheimer's awareness. And Mick is he aware that you have taken photos of him and videoed him?

Comment by: Garry on 16th March 2017 at 17:45

APB Girl put kettle on.

Comment by: irene roberts on 16th March 2017 at 18:31

I stand corrected and should have thought before I spoke. If he is doing this to raise money for charity then fair play to the man. He was just so unlike other Elvis impersonators I have seen that he came as a shock! As someone said earlier, he's not sitting begging. My apologies.

Comment by: Mick on 16th March 2017 at 19:36

APB Girl yes he was aware and I will say while I was with him for 15 minutes the only money that went into his collection box for dementia and alzheimers was from my pocket.
All the rest of Wigan was walking past as fast asthey could.

Comment by: David on 16th March 2017 at 19:47

Very disappointed with whoever "moderates" these comments before they are published.
If you are going to put up a photo of a person for public comment you should treat them with respect.

Comment by: Veronica B on 16th March 2017 at 21:21

I agree if the Impersonator is collecting for a good cause he is to be commended-but if there is nothing to indicate this -how can it be known? The man must know he will attract comments dressed as he is!
As Irene said apologies are due and good luck to him! Most of the buskers in Wigan are trying to make a living by performing in the way he is.

Comment by: Sue on 17th March 2017 at 06:33

Well said David

Comment by: Garry on 17th March 2017 at 07:05

I always treat this sort of thing with an open mind, where funds are given it's always open to fraud like a lot of charities and organisations. But some are genuine.
I've no time for street beggars, they beg for gigs and beer not food.

Comment by: Veronica B on 17th March 2017 at 09:06

Agree Garry -at the same time some of the buskers are very talented and I have stopped many times to listen to a good singer and musician and put money in their boxes.

Comment by: Sam h on 17th March 2017 at 12:29

I do have a certain amount of sympathy for lot of genuine street dwellers, people who have no family or friends the ones who suffer from nervous disabilities it's nice to know most people on this Webb including myself can return home each day to a loving family and friends ,I agree not all of them are genuine but neither are many that have everything in life, this problem is increasing drastically every day, so something is wrong with the system somewhere

Comment by: Garry on 17th March 2017 at 13:57

Should have said cigs and beer..sorry!

Comment by: Garry on 17th March 2017 at 15:14

Yes Sam h, I agree with you.
But there is a lot of bone-idle folk about these days who can't spell work, the problem is, they get easy handouts. Work equals money!!
Hard work did no harm to me when I was coal bagging, it was back-breaking work.

Comment by: Julie on 18th March 2017 at 01:07

Trumps again Garry. Work equals money!! One job not enough get another! The choice of going to work for my parents, as with many others, was not an option...you went...period!! If you can't feed your child then first ask why you had it in the first place and then go and get a job! There is no secret bank! Money comes from those who go to work or we borrow it. That is why this country owes so much and why we can't look after the NHS or our elderly folk. Labour wants to borrow to invest but there has to be a compulsion to work. Everybody has to have a work record! Only those who are proven to be physically or mentally unable should we be lenient to. There is social justice but also social responsibility. Giving money for nothing is NOT helping that person as its like giving more sweets to a child that cries. It provides a fix but sets in the rot of dependency! As previously, it is not government money but tax payers money and borrowed money. The only way out of poverty is work!!

Comment by: Garry on 18th March 2017 at 10:24

I applaud you Julie, well said and
absolutely correct.

Comment by: Garry on 18th March 2017 at 12:14

I've been in work all my life, first as a spark/electrician and in later years a coal man. Retired now, go out with my dog eat fish and chips and enjoy a glass of sherry every night watching TV. I catch no harm.

Comment by: Janette R on 18th March 2017 at 15:15

Yes Julie, I fully agree.

Comment by: Bod on 19th March 2017 at 13:42

Think Garry and Julie should live together,if only things were so simple or maybe get one of these many jobs they say are so available perhaps on zero hours, don't forget Garry jobs were far more available when you and I were going you had a trade and so did I,not readily available these days now that many are Working beyond the age of 65.

Comment by: dole man on 19th March 2017 at 16:40

People should retire at 60 for female 65 male, that way other younger people may get a job.

Comment by: Veronica on 19th March 2017 at 19:16

It's a different scenario now as Bod says. Nothing like the days when we 'never had it so good' with money to spend and jobs in plentiful supply and lots of apprentice schemes. Even young ones in work can't afford mortgages unless the Bank of Mum and Dad help out... Not all young people are lazy either! If parents have a strong work ethic it's usually passed on to their children.

Comment by: Tommy on 7th April 2017 at 10:46

What makes them think they can sing? Its obvious to all and sundry, (except themselves) that they're rubbish!
