Oatsotrampled
Photo: Edward Heaton (iPad)
I bet the farmer is mad about that.
Ive just had Oatibixs for my breaktfast Ozy
At least the public are keeping it neat.
I reckon if the landowner insists on sowing his oats on a public right of way, then he deserves to get them trampled on. Wouldn't you agree Mick ?
This photo is so typical of the Wigan countryside as I remember it, as a two year old walking with Grandad along footpaths out of Borsdane Wood toward Hall Lane, up Polly Shades Lump or alongside Dicconson Mill up to the Old Wash. The area shown here, for me, was a year or so later.
Invariably, on these daily walks, other old men would be met, nearly all ex miners, with their dogs.
That is a really unique shot. A welcome change.
Doesnt look like the path was sowed , no oats growing along it to be trampled. Much better that the farmer leaves the space empty.
That said, its a very good photo, unusual.
What year was this photo taken from, it's very near Harvest time?
Nice photo, just over the hill the footpath goes close to Blackrod Cricket Club.
