Haigh Hall reception
Nice pic, but one word, GAUDY!!!
Is it a Bric-a-Brac Shop?
I'm beginning to think this hotel is like the one in the film"The Shining". It's creepy!
Nobody knocking about - Al Bowly singing 'Midnight' and Jack with his axe!
Dave nice picture but your angle makes the room look larger than it is, I,ve been in and found it overcrowded with furniture and nick naks, its a cocktail bar, do you know where the entrance is going to be for the hotel reception....
Too busy and cluttered.
Talk about Somewhere Over the Rainbow!
Everyone I have heard comment, even young people who you think would see it through different eyes, uses the word 'tacky'.
WEIGH A PIE Irene?
Must be a James Bond fan, looking at the photos, and them turquoise settees stand out like sore thumb, no match at all to the interior decor, good clear photo Dave.
This building once contained arguably the finest private library in the world. Some of it went to the John Rylands library in Manchester and the Gutenburg Bible finished up in the United States.
The decor of the hall seems now to resemble Disneyesque view of the world.
A good clear photo.
The colours are from the late 60s and early 70s,when almost everyone wanted these very stong colours, nice clear photo though.
Tacky
I think everything is in keeping with the time that the Hall was built, apart from the blue settee. A nice change from all the minimalism of today which I find really bland, every house ends up looking the same.
Call me old fashion or what, but I like rooms with carpets, wallpaper, coalfire, nice comfy couch, TV on a stand. All this painted walls, laminated flooring, TV stuck on the wall (stiff neck) not for me.
its eclectic
Don't forget the sherry Garry! (Good job your names not Gerry -Garry!)
Yes I'm having a glass right now, cheers Vb.
It does not fit with Hall - awful. Does anyone know if the top floors have been repaired. I think the reason for the Hall being a hotel was so that the upper floors would all be repaired.
