Nuthatch. They are fairly common where I now live in Somerset, but I dont remember seeing one in Wigan.

Corlean. It is definitely a Nuthatch. We live just outside the town centre, and one comes here every year. It was here for 3 or 4 days a couple of weeks ago, and feeds on the nuts.
