Wigan Rectory
Shame there are still trees growing out of the roof and chimneys. Hopefully they will be removed soon.
There a photograph on Phto-a-Day 17th March 2014 taken from exactly the same vantage point ,before the refurbishment. It interesting to compare the difference.
Phil Clarke seems very sympathetic to the historic nature of the building and the need to conserve it. Nice it is in the hands of a Wiganer and not some uncaring investment house.
Its not just Phil Clark who should be given credit, its his brother and more importantly Ian Lenagan.
Yes Tom it really shows the difference
Was this rectory ever used as a nursery,I seem to recall my Mam saying that I went there as a baby when she started work..or did I dream it.

Could be smoke from a wood burner coming from the chimneys, and I think the tree is behind the house not coming through the roof.
It's a magnificent job they've done on it. Well done.
Ian LENAGAN
Neil, I would have thought that you would have realised by now that trying to teach Mick how to spell properly is an exercise in futility. I've long since given up on trying to explain to him the difference between there, their and they're. " try saying them out loud, [ there ] all the same ". is all the response that you get. In fact, the mis- spelling of the word ' there' appears to have become his trademark bless him.....Only joking Mick.....( or am I ? )
Regards. Ozy.
Ian Lenagan.
Practice makes perfect. Then again.!
Jazzy, there are trees growing out of the roof and the chimneys, it's not smoke and they are not behind the house. Easy to see from Frog Lane.
Ozy, You're not too bad for a wagon driver.
