Pond and Lillies
Lovely Dave,it reminds me of a Degas painting! (Although having a little more clarity and focus!)
The pond is getting overcrowded, these Lillies need a good thinning out
Very Monet '"Water Lillie's" at Giverny! lovely
Lovely shot, Dave.
Nice shot, but what's with the fence around the pond?. I remember this pond having no fence around it in the 1990s. You could say health & safety gone too far, but it seems everywhere you go these days there's always a fence of high security fence around lots of public places, some that have no reason to be there. It goes hand in hand with all the ever increasing CCTV cameras that are everywhere now, that most people seem absolutely oblivious to.
Vb
You took the words out of my mouth!
I've seen Monet's original "Water Lillies" in the National Gallery. Its a huge canvas!
Great shot Dave!
I think Ellen means Monet.
On our visit we saw plenty of tidler's but no big carp
This brings very special childhood memories of going to Haigh Hall on the tractor through the cool, shady plantations on Sunday afternoons in Summer with my parents. I remember the big golden fish in amongst the lily-pads, and the wonderful flowers and plants in the greenhouse situated behind the pond. Thanks for the memories. x.
Mick, you need a good thinning out.
Footnote
"Waterlillies" not "Waterlillie's (Can't believe I put an apostrophe)!
Vb, at least you realised your mistake. The amount of times I see "I would of" instead of "I would have" drives me potty! And the use of the word "formally" by the editors of The Wigan Observer, when it should read "formerly" is enough to drive me to drink! It's a good excuse to have a Barley Wine! x.
My excuse Irene -"it's me age"!!!Good job I'm
retired! Brain cells turning to treacle!
I too admit my mistake, I did mean Monet!
Irene, don't tell me you don't drink,ha ha.
I love a drink, Sam! x.
