A good interesting shot Ernest, that will also be of great interest for many years to come.

Good shot Ernest and the weather was more pleasant!
I much preferred the old building; more character.

Now there's change in Wigan, good thing I know were the Peartree is and the bridge.
Very busy area for crossing the road for school children.

Awful no character!!
I went to All Saints Secondary Modern on this site.
Just looks like a flat piece of metal!!

I defiantly agree with you Catherine no character whatsoever , nothing like the All Saints I went to which was FULL of character

Wonder where Rev.David Long has got to. Are you on a Round the World Tour, Rev.David?

Comment by: Maureen. on 24th April 2016 at 11:33

Drove passed it this A.M...sorry but it looks like an open prison.

Why was the old school demolished? Not lived in Wigan for many years -I seem to remember the building being full of character.

I love it. Its good to see that Wigan iskeeping up with the times. The classrooms will be ultra-modern, with all the latest technology. For our children; and the town, it can only be a good thing. No use wallowing in the past.

Don't confuse old brick, dysfunctional plumbing and inadequate heating with 'character'. Our kids deserve decent schools with up-to-date facilities and equipment. Anything less is neglect.
