Is that your bike Mick with SatNav, side mirror and paniers for your Jack-bit? Chris Hoy will be jealous!
Great sign...similar wants to be put up in Market Place and Wallgate!

Looks like the right place to leave it to me, it's already a mess.

No matter where in this country of ours you go you will find irresponsible dog owners who will not clean up after their pet. Just a few week ago I asked a lady at one of our local beauty spots to clear away her pets pooh, goodness me, what a mouth full of abuse she gave me. Another habit these days seems to be -- putting the pooh into a little black bag but then just leaving it at the side of the path. I presume the dog pooh fairy will eventually spirit it away. Someday a disease will brake out that will spread like wildfire amongst pet dogs then it will be too late. £1000 fine risk does not appear to be preventing this disgusting problem. I take it that the sign isn't a local authority one but I do like its wording written no doubt by a straight forward Lancashire lad.

Somebody means business .....no mistake...and left their bike BEHIND!

Absolutely correct, Walt from Yorkshire. Here in Wigan we have green signs all over the place about dog mess, and as you rightly say,(most not all) throw) the bag on the pavement. Even fines don't stop them, look how many folk still use their moblie phones and drive even with points on their Licence.
What frustrates me is them cats who use me nice neat garden as a toilet. But that's another story.
What gets me with our Council, they will prosecute folk for dropping a fag end in the street and don't seem to deal with the irresponsible dog owners.

What amazes me is when dog owners pick up the mess in a bag then hang it on a tree as though it is a Christmas decoration.

'Tis the same the world over,it seems. Most, but by no means all pet owners in my little corner of the world are responsible and pick up their pet's poop. wha annoys me most is those who allow their pets to leave droppingson my front lawn!

100% with Garry about the Fag ends ,I don't smoke but think they are easy targets for the Council to make money. I would much prefer to see fag end on the street than a doggy bag.

Comment by: Mick on 15th April 2016 at 11:45

The people who are dropping the fag ends on the street dont care about where they live, and they will be the same ones who bag up there dog muck and skim it in the bushes.
Yes they are easier to be caught doing it, but maybe the authority might think a fine for the fag end may make them change there ways.

Look in the Wigan Observer in a week in court about people who got fines over fag ends.Shirley your spot on, I'm with you. Sooner see fag ends on the pavement than dog foul.

What about horse muck, the riders just let the horse muck on the path they are travelling. That should be picked up like dog muck

Comment by: Garry on 16th April 2016 at 10:08

Horse muck is picked up by me, for my garden. Don't talk daft, you don't see horse muck on the pavement anyway.
