Haigh woodland park
Good one Ron, been there done that.
Ron its leading down to the crazy golf
Another nice picture of haigh hall Ron luv it.
Can't go wrong with pictures of Haigh Hall -it looks like Autumn.
Great pic!
I know where to go for fuel for my wood-burning fire!
Footnote:
Does playing crazy golf turn you mental? :-)
Mick the crazy golf is on a high point and all paths lead up to it. On the subject of the crazy golf, we are in great need of new members and old members to man it throughout the summer. It is extremely popular and it would be a great shame if it had to close. If you are interested and want to know what is involved, speak to one of our volunteers on the course this weekend or Phil in the art studio.
Good picture Ron, makes me feel like getting my walking shoes on !
John the crazy golf is on the right and thats down hill from where Ron as took the photo
Mick I know EXACTLY where the crazy golf is in relation to where this picture was taken and I can assure you that Ron is correct, it is UP to the crazy golf!
Good picture Ron.
John/Mick
I was right...crazy golf makes you mental!
John the footpath is going down hill so if you walk straight ahead your heading down.
Johnny it is not the crazy golf that makes you mental, just Mick!
After many years I am thinking of coming to Haigh Hall is it down Memory Lane or up Memory Lane? Just thought I would ask the experts!
DOWN Memory Lane, I would say, Vb, as you are going BACK in time, but I am no expert!
John
He!He!
The grand old Duke of York had 10,000 men
And he marched them up Haigh Hall And marched them down again
And when they were up, they were up
And when they were down, they were down
And when they were only half way up
According to John and Mick, they were neither up nor down!
I don't claim to be an expert veebee, but if you're coming from Haigh, it's down Memory lane. From Ivy Bank, Red Rock or Wigan lane its up Memory lane. But you already knew this didnt you, you rascal ? You're just having a laugh aren't you, you little scamp?. However, if you're looking to play crazy golf, take my advice, don't follow Mick's directions. It isn't very often that he's right, but he's wrong on this occasion. Only joking Mick. ( or am I ?)
Regards. Ozy.
Vb, the crazy golf opens this weekend after the winter so you could check out for yourself whether it is up or down memory lane and have some fun at the same time,
It's up to crazy golf John knows he is right, as does anyone without pedantry.
Haigh woodland, well everything really is a shadow to what it was in the 50s/60s. Those lovely flower beds and greenhouses under Wigan Corporation they were great.
Oh heck .....it's started!!! I'm off!
If you look on this video you will see the sign pointing up to the woodland trails, so if the trails are up from the crazy gold that proves that Rons photo was pointing down towards the crazy golf course.

100% UPHILL, Micky boy is as usual wrong wrong wrong again
Vb , good if your off.
That's on the uphill slope, muck like micks hump.
Cheers Ann!
Just been up there on my bike and did a scientific test.
Sat on the bike lifted my legs up and my bike started to roll down the hill towards the crazy golf course.
Admire your tenacity Mick!,,,Whether right or wrong!
Mick, there is a saying, "When you are in a hole stop digging." Anyone who has visited Haigh, particularly those mothers pushing prams UP from the Walled Garden area, where the picture was taken from, knows the truth of the matter.
Mick; photo is taken on approach to Haigh Hall. You must have been on your bike going away from Haigh Hall.
If thats the case Ernest, what it should say is, This path leads up to the Little Train, Haigh Hall, Kids Play Ground and the Crazy Golf
