In case you're wondering when we've had weather fit for ballooning - this pic has been stuck in the ether since I took it at the end of September.
I was hoping the winds would carry it southwards so I could snap it over the Billinge ridge, but it soon drifted off out of sight towards Chorley.

I remember some years ago watching when a hot air balloon came down in the valley at Bottling Wood

Great pic!
As KenR says
Up,up and away in my beautiful ballon...
Looks like a drone or UFO to the right of pic...
Never been in a balloon, have to make do with the hot air generated sometimes on P-A-D :-)

There's probably two pensioners in that hot-air-balloon enjoying the peace and tranquillity! Fulfilling a bucket list wish???

Friends had bought tickets for a balloon ride a couple of years back and the company kept cancelling through weather conditions, any wind is enough to ground balloons, thats why not many seen flying in UK except Summer, then only a few.

if you get a chance to go for a flight in one don't refuse, it's the experience of a lifetime.
