At least they haven't airbrushed mining out like Wigan have. There is nothing in Wigan now to remind us of our mining heritage

Apart from Ozzy/Eddie,s opencast mining pictures Fred. It's a nice cheerful sign to light up the gloom.

Fred we have got the non-descript wheel/pulley tucked away at the side of the college.

My wife and I had our pic taken in front of one of these signs - by the Greyhound just off the E Lancs Road.
