Floating on a sea of flowers.
This is the first time Ive seen Kittywake on the canal this year.

Dave (Oy) have you not noticed that Nasty Black Bitumen covered pipeline.
Wonderful photo, in spite of the dirty black bitumen pipe and support structure. I just noticed the passengers. I guess this is a starter cruise. by the way are they going to Liverpool or Leeds.
Derek; I`m somewhat surprised that you ask which way Kittywake is going having worked at Walmsleys.
Kittywake`s stern is on left hence going towards Liverpool.
Yes Mick - the black bitumen covered pipeline is industrial - as is Wigan. Compositionally it gives the boat a target - I like it. :)

I remember that pipe crossing the canal in the fifties as a kid. I also played football with my mates on the playing fields where the stadium is now. If my memory serves me right there was a sewage plant to the left of the photo, in the fields.

Thanks Ernest, never really been interested in the canal. Even today I never know which way to go if I come across the canal.
Dave Oy if the boat driver just sticks to the middle of the canal he wouldnt need a target.
