They have defaced the union flag.

A moving tribute

Wonder of wonders that day; as part of the entertainment in Market Place, Pemberton Old Brass Band were playing.

Dead right, Ron.D. Mind you, patriotism means nothing to most Brits these days. Many even ride around in German cars.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 30th June 2015 at 21:31

Ron - that's the official Armed Forces Day flag as issued by the MOD.

Barry: You don't think the people there are patriotic? I can assure you that wasn't the atmosphere on the day!

Comment by: Ron D. on 1st July 2015 at 08:29

Dave .If they had put a complete union flag in their flag like our marine ensign .OK.But to cut it in two. Heads at the MOD MUST ROLL.

Why is the Union Jack not flying on top of the parish church?

Comment by: Alex on 2nd July 2015 at 13:42

The photo needed to go wider (horizontally and not vertically) we know what the church looks like, we can't see the parade so good.

A true patriot totally supports his or her country.
Anyone who claims they're patriotic whilst riding around in German cars, are hypocrites.

Barry, the shirt on your back was most probably made in China, does that make you one? Mmmmm.......

Comment by: Barry on 6th July 2015 at 23:32

MR T obviously drives German! As for my shirts - made in the UK. cost a bit more, but worth it. At least the Chinese didn't kill millions of British people in two World Wars...

No Barry, Vauxhall, a British Co. owned by GM, an American Co. but made in Ellesmere Port by British Workers. America were our allies in WW2, is that OK?
You'll be using something in your life thats not British, unfortunately we Brits don't make everything, some stuff HAS to be imported. Get over it.
