Great photo Ron, you are making me hungry from 3000 miles away. Good Chippy, have you tried it Mick?
Is that the chippy on Ratcliffe Road, I used to go there at dinner time in the 70's I was sure Ashtons shop used to be next door to it.
great chippy we used to call it slow joes.ironic picture on chippy day
Wonderful photo of Aspull Chippy I see they even have alfresco dining.
We should support these old fashioned English chippys because if we dont the Chinese will be in there selling there muck and all of of the village will stink of deep fried prawn crackers.
It doesn't appear the Germans bombed this one!
Must pop in one day for me lunch, two meat puddings, chips and mushy peas, when I'm in the area sketching!
When asked by a former girl-friend why I always had two meats pudds, I answered it reminds me of you in a state of nakedness!! lol
Years ago I was in the Happy Palace not enjoying a meal.
Oi I shouted to the waiter
This chickens f***in' rubbery
Ah fank yoo vebby much!!
Giovanni, with all due respect, to my knowledge never in my time and i know i am a few years older than you, have Babbys Yeds, or, in your case your former girlfriends breasts been known as MEAT puddings, they are STEAK puddings, or probably to give them their full title, steak and kidney puddings. Regarding your 'Germans'comment, were you referring to the joke about the prostitute who opened a chip shop during WW2? Bombed after a few weeks, rebuilt and notice appeared on door, Due to Hitler, chips will be littler. Bombed again, same thing happened, next notice said, Due to Himmler fish will be similar, after the 3rd bombing notice read, Due to Goring, gone back to whoring.
Yes Ken Ive been in it last time I was in I order pie chips and gravy and girl behind the counter served my pie upside down, I said my pie is upside down and she said well it was hot so I just dropped it on top.

good comments best take away meal going long may they last.
Mick your comment is bordering on racist, The world could do without your narrow minded bigot views
Where have the girls gone? Maureen, Irene, Julie?
I know, they've learnt the off-side rule and are staying in the kitchen! lol
Giovanni, they are keeping clear of here cos of your 'girlfriend'and rubbery chicken comments, lol.
Maybe they've realised your not that funny like you think you are.
Giovanni, I have been away for the weekend and only just catching up with Wigan World, and it's DINNER in Wigan, lad , not "lunch"! My grand-daughter played "chippy" at our house last week, and it was great to see a little girl playing as I and my friends used to, instead of on these ipod things all the time.....I showed her how to make a paper cone out of the Wigan Observer, I made cardboard fish and sausages, she scooped up my clothes-pegs as chips, and used ceramic baking-beans for peas, and she had the time of her life!
Technology Mrs Roberts, Technology.
Most children/Teens have them.I see that Giovanni chap is still trying to pestering you ladies. Give him the elbow.
Maybe not to you good un and nope to you Alex re giving Giovanni the elbow. I find his comments interesting and amusing even though I don't know the guy from Adam. Don't let them put you off Gio.
Giovanni always cheers me up and makes me laugh.
Grazie mi belle signoras.
I can always rely on Wigan ladies to defend my honour! lol
