Marie,from Hindley crossroads it's about 3/4 mile down Liverpool Rd on the left,there is a small car park,and there are some nice walks.

Last summer I rode my bike here and went passed a big Gypsy scrap yard just before I came out around Bickershaw

Nice pic, Maurice,
There can't be many bands named after local ponds, but "Sammy's Flood" played some mean rock at Hindley Against Cancer a couple of Saturdays back in St Peter's pavillion, so they deserve a mention.
