Pemberton
Both photo's make it look like a ghost town where are the shoppers?
Love Pemberton. I was brought up in Kitt Green and every Saturday morning we would walk to Pemberton to do our shopping. Still go back there regularly.
Great reminder of the many times I've walked up city road from Kittgreen just for a pie!
Always treated myself to a "vanilla" to :-)
It used to be a regular walk every school day going to St Johns school.
Mam shopping at the Meadow Dairy in the 1950's.
Must be a Sunday or perhaps very early morning.
I had a few mates who lived in Pem near Travellers Rest. I can remember the great house parties also! And a couple of youth clubs that held dances. Spoilt for choice in 60's.

Bradshaws girl, I was brought up in Pemberton as well in the fifties and sixties. Got married and moved to West Midlands in 1971. No comparison. Give me good old'Pem' anytime. Used to spend lots of happy times walking down Brook Lane with a bottle of water and sugar butties and paddled in Smithy Brook till our feet were pink and wrinkled, waving to the trains as they steamed by. Must go now as my eyes are getting a bit moist.
Derek, have you received my recent emails? I have got back in touch with Brian and Marie Glazebrook and they would like to contact you. Please email me. Thanks.
derek,my favourite was a bottle of water ,and butties with that condensed milk ,could never eat sugar butties ,treacle yes or syrup ,great blackberry picking going down brook lane
Oooh yes Christine, condensed milk butties and treacle. Am off to Sainsburys now ha ha. I don't suppose you are the Christine Heaton who went to St. Johns in the fifties?
