To say it's a bleak time of the year, this photo is inspirational....Well done.
When taking a racing four from Wigan Rowing Club through this bridge, the cox called the crew to ship their oars. He needed enough speed to get through the bridge and stay on track until there was room to row again and hope there wasn't a barge just round the bend on the other side.
For info: Canal footpath cycling permit is no longer required. However, it is recommended to take out third party liability insurance in case of accidents.
