Nice duck. The water looks fairly clear.

Good one Mick, as much as we get bothered about litter in our rivers the duck doesn't seem to mind.

A really quirky photo, made me smile...but the shopping trolley is a sign of the times, I thought people didn't do stupid things like that any more. How wrong can you be !

Good name for it Mick, where on the Dougie was the photo taken?

When mum lived at Bottling Wood we used to see allsorts dumped in the river. I've never understood why people do it. At least the river itself is looking healthy.

David the photo is taken from the bridge next to the DW stadium.

Just shows how clean the Dougie is now, at one time you would be able to see the dumped rubbish

You must do a lot of wandering fantastic photo asda trolley or sainsburys

The green handle is a giveaway that it is an Asda trolley, in having to deposit a pound coin to use a trolley is obviously not stopping folks from taking them away and dumping them.

It isn't all that long ago either when it ran with a different colour each day with pollution from the dyeing and bleaching companies along the river and also full of brown trout too courtesy of the local water board, United Utilities have done a great job in cleaning up the river.

If all them colours of dye where still being dumped in there Cyril all them brown trout might be rainbow trout.
