Wiganers are so lucky to have a canal running through our area.
It needs a lot of maintenance and the Canal & River Trust are always looking for volunteers, you could join he towpath taskforce, waterside watcher or become a volunteer lock keeper

As a lad with mates we cycled the route of the canal and got as far as New Lane Burscough passing through the town
