Comment by: Alan (on Vancouver Island) on 11th December 2014 at 00:06

A beautiful, well composed picture.

Can somebody describe just where that is ? I used to live near Orrell Post ( 40 years ago). How would I get to the Water Park from there ?

Comment by: David on 11th December 2014 at 00:19

I just love this picture! It's very moody, and although in colour, its almost monochrome. Than you Neil.

Alan from the Stag inn at Orrell Post go south on Moor Rd over the M58 to Orrell. At traffic lights Turn left onto Church St go past the railway station then turn right at the fork in road. Lodges are about 200yds on your left.

Alan, as already mentioned the water park used to be Orrell Reservoirs. I used to fish there as a kid in the mid/late 60's. Walked it there from Kitt Green.
I have been to Vancouver Island a couple of times fishing for coho and chinook. If it were not for family I would live there. Doh , I knew I shouldn't have had kids.

Comment by: Neil Cain on 11th December 2014 at 16:47

Thanks again everyone for your kind words. Alan (Vancouver Is.)do you ever go down the coast to Kalaloch and the Hoh Rainforest?

Comment by: irene roberts on 11th December 2014 at 18:37

That is so beautiful, Neil. I especially like the silhouetted bulrushes. What does "wigan" mean by "are you for real?" I can't make out if that's a compliment or an insult. Certainly the rest of us agree it is something special. Thankyou for posting.

Comment by: Alan (Van Is) on 11th December 2014 at 18:45

PeterP and Daveb many thanks for your directions, they have cleared the fog in my head. I left UpHolland Grammar School in 1955 and I don't think I have been back up there since then.

David, pity you couldn't live on Vancouver Island, it is the closest place to heaven on earth !

Neil, I haven't been to the places you mentioned, but will look into it.

Fabulous photo.....best this year, in my opinion.
Alan
