The lady in the centre doesn't seem to be going any where
At first, I was confused because I thought in marathons everyone ran in the same direction. Then I figured that the men were running in one direction and the women running in the other
The runners start in Wigan town centre, run to the D.W. Stadium via Park Road etc. into Scot Lane, along Stadium Way then return along the same route, apart from a short detour into The Martland Park Ind. Estate, to re-enter Scot Lane near the railway bridge.
Not correct Derek, there is a woman extreme left in black running away from the camera and a man in black top, 5th body from the right, running towards it. The conclusion must be, that they have turned somewhere and are running back on themselves.
They circled the DW stadium and returned to Wigan the same way they had come, that is why they are meeting each other in opposite directions.
Bit confusing.!!!
