Im always careful when Im riding my bike around this canal bend because the tow path is so high up from the water level you wouldnt be able to drag yourself out and could easily drown.

I one asked the Priestess in St James Church, could I climb up the church tower and she said yes, she even let me leave my bike inside to church so it wouldnt get pinched

Mick I was on my bike riding back from Bryn and had the same thought, but unlike Aspull the towpath from Platt Bridge is paved and easier to ride on.

Very nice, Harry.

Great composition even though photography rules say that you should not put a tall object in the centre of the frame, this one breaks the rules and works.
Lovely shot. Well done.

So much for rules, eh?

That's a beautiful shot Harry..it reminds me of a Constable painting.

Comment by: Mick on 19th July 2014 at 12:51

A fantastic shot Harry. Brings back wonderful memories of my childhood, spent in Poolstock. I lived just behind St. James's Church and attended there regularly until I moved away, but Poolstock will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks for this lovely photo.
