The only comment is "no comment"

Comment by: alan on 14th July 2014 at 01:37

It's getting worse........a tattooed woman screaming into a microphone.....! What on earth is happening to Wigan ?

Comment by: Garry on 14th July 2014 at 05:25

Not my cup of tea.

Comment by: Bradshaws Girl on 14th July 2014 at 07:49

Not my cup of tea either but it's putting Wigan on the map as far as music is concerned.

Comment by: Fred Mason on 14th July 2014 at 07:56

Bring back the birds....all is forgiven.!!

Comment by: irene roberts on 14th July 2014 at 08:05

Agreed, everyone!

Comment by: Ron D on 14th July 2014 at 08:24

I am too old for this . But if I wasn't??? .Great pick Dave.

Comment by: Kenee on 14th July 2014 at 09:29

Is that Dave Whelan on the drums?

Comment by: David on 14th July 2014 at 10:40

Good lighting!

Comment by: Garry on 14th July 2014 at 11:56

Alan your right, is their any young women today WITHOUT tattoos. Not for me.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 14th July 2014 at 13:35

So many negative comments - I really don't know why I bother. I guess it's just yet another sign of the demise of a once great website.

Comment by: Jemmy on 14th July 2014 at 15:02

Tattoo's are naff! Why spoil natural beauty with such crudeness?
Crazy!

Comment by: Harry C. on 14th July 2014 at 15:02

I can see your point Dave, two photos O.K. not everyones cup of tea, but keep your pics coming for those who appreciate them and do as I do and ignore the few who have to have a moan but post none themselves. H.

Comment by: Phil Taylor on 14th July 2014 at 15:28

Well said Dave (Oy), the ignorance shown in some of the comments makes me ashamed to come from wigan.
Great pic tho, good focus in what I imagine were difficult lighting conditions.

Comment by: Catherine on 14th July 2014 at 16:06

Does it really matter if anyone has tattoos on them or not? That's stereotyping at it's worst. The girl can sing and as Bradshaw's Girl said, it's putting Wigan on the map.
As usual, a great photo Oy.

Comment by: irene roberts on 14th July 2014 at 16:07

Please keep on bothering, Dave. Your photos are great; obviously this particular one hasn't proved pleasing to many, me included, but it's the first one of yours that I just haven't taken to, and it's just the subject I don't like, not the quality of the photograph.

Comment by: Maureen on 14th July 2014 at 16:20

Dave, please carry on, I love your photos..they're second to none in my book.

Comment by: Polly on 14th July 2014 at 16:39

Hi Dave (Oy) , I can understand where you are coming from but would you not find it boring or helpful if you got just praise all the time? I personally find the different opinions and observations refreshing, clearly from different era,s (not ages).

Comment by: Fred Mason on 14th July 2014 at 17:33

I agree with Irene. Dave your photo's are great and I'm sure the comments are not aimed at you personally, in fact when i saw these photo's I instantly knew from the quality that they were yours. It's the content. I would much prefer scenery of Wigan than artists. Great pics.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 14th July 2014 at 17:51

Ah - there is hope after all.

Polly - I'm not after praise all the time. If people don't like a photo that's fine. I just wish people were a little more friendly in the process :)

Tomorrow should be an interesting one :)

Comment by: Dave on 14th July 2014 at 18:30

My sentiments to Dave(OY) no need for some of the remarks made if you don't like a photo or the content just say so without rude remarks.

Comment by: tricia on 14th July 2014 at 20:12

Dave.
I think the comments are aimed more at Mel C than your photos.
I enjoy all the photos on here and I'm grateful that people take the time and trouble to post them.

Comment by: Bernard Derbyshire on 14th July 2014 at 20:39

Dave, it's been said that a good photograph invokes a reaction.

Comment by: Andrew on 14th July 2014 at 21:38

Oy, I must admit, the constant negative comments are the reason I don't send pics in anymore. And the worst pointless comments usually come from folks who can't be bothered sending in pics themselves.

Superb photo by the way - love the energy, pin sharp focus and dialogue between singer and pianist. Great stuff

Comment by: Ferg on 14th July 2014 at 22:22

Some people just have no perspective, or are just incredibly bitter.

The fact it that Wigan (which to be unbiased, it just another nondescript down in the North) has staged an event featuring a prominent face of the BBC (Jools) and a singer from one of the most famous pop groups of recent times.

There are likely few places in the world Melanie C hasn't performed, she has performed for Royalty, Nelson Mandela, etc - Do you think she showed any signs of disrespect at being invited to perform in Wigan? I doubt it, I'm sure she was extremely courteous and glad to have the opportunity to perform.

How any of this (how she sounds, how she looks) then relates to blaming the person who has documented the occasion and shared it is another matter, just plain rude.

Comment by: Peter on 14th July 2014 at 23:21

I think your pic is great dave
I always enjoy seeing them but then again I am a nutter
Keep em coming dave for those who appreciate good photos

Comment by: John Morris on 14th July 2014 at 23:26

This slot is about Wigan and what is going on in Wigan. These superb photos of the jazz festival do just that. Whether you like jazz, the singer or tattoos is irrelevant, in my opinion.

Comment by: Garry on 15th July 2014 at 12:21

Polly and Tricia's right again, this is what brings WW to life different comments. How boring must be, "great, good, nice, lovely. Your photos are really good Dave Oy, but it's the contents most people are negative about. Superimpose or touch-ups get up my back, but most of the time the pics are straight genuine shots. Don't forget P-A-D is not a contest, it's the product. Andrew, keep clicking.

Comment by: Alan on 15th July 2014 at 17:11

There you go. Andrew thinks p-a-d is a contest. i for one love wigan pics, it dosen't have to be HD, high definition , wide angle, 100 million megapixels or digital pulses. Just a photo of Wigan. I must say though, some people with those cameras, DO think p-a-d IS a contest.

Comment by: Alan on 15th July 2014 at 18:57

Tattoos..once there on, there on. Beauty ruined, sorry ladies but most of you will regret them when your older.(and men).

Comment by: Garry on 15th July 2014 at 20:05

So what are you saying John Morris, this is a photo contest?

Comment by: John Morris on 15th July 2014 at 21:49

No Garry I am not saying that this is a photo contest. I am saying that they are photos of what is going on in Wigan and the way they portray that is superb. I make no comparison with any other photographs that appear on this site. It is not, and never should be, a competition.

Comment by: Mick on 15th July 2014 at 21:55

I wish these digital cameramen would get it into there heads that its not a photo contest and it dosent matter how many comments you get, some of the comments that you get might teach some of you how to take better and more interesting photos.

For me if Oy would have used a flash gun on the last two photos they would have shown the people in the background and turned out much better all round.

But Im no expert

Comment by: Dave on 15th July 2014 at 21:56

Anyone who posts a picture on here knows it's not a contest a contest has a winner and a prize, the people that send in pictures do it because they enjoy photography and enjoy sharing their pictures for everyone to enjoy or not, this is a great site appreciated worldwide by expats and others and i think it should be accepted for what it is a great outlet to post pictures and for people to comment on them without being rude.

Comment by: Mick on 15th July 2014 at 22:31

Dave only people who are being rude and soft about this is you cameramen.

I sometimes send in some cracking photos and they never get any comments from any of you cameramen are any comments from some of the daft women but it never bothers me because I live in the real world

Comment by: Garry on 16th July 2014 at 08:22

Good point Mick, there's a CLICK with some camera men on P-A-D. You get some out of the click spitting their dummy out because some of us don't like what we see. Ok, they might be crystal clear photos, but this sites is not about quality, its about what's been taken. And your right again Mick, the usual click don't comment on other ordinary snappers on P-A-D.
