I love this! It reminds me of a story that was read to us in Mrs. Gerrard's class at Upholland Moor school. It was called "the Nasturtiums that grew too big for their boots". That was a very long time ago!

Have you ever noticed that when you see a shoe discarded by the side of the road there is only ever one shoe? You don't ever see anyone hobbling home wearing one shoe so what happens to the other shoe?

Re- Den's comment. We went a couple of years ago to the Roman site near Hadrians Wall, Vindolanda. They have 2 display areas on the wall of the museum as you enter. They display Roman shoes found in the digs they have every summer. Men's shoes, lady's shoes,children's shoes, babies's shoes, all manner of designs. All these shoes & they have never ever found a matching pair ! Where did the others go ?
