This is what I would call a proper photo of the day.

Its showing whats going on in Wigan and it looks like its not been touched up.

Great photo, well done these volunteers if it wasn't for them Haigh would be derelict.

To keep this swan pond weed free they should put some rowing boats on it.

Wiganers like having a row.

We owe a debt to the The friends of Haigh, the work they do enhances the park for the enjoyment of others. The same can be said for The friends of Mesnes Park ,which has been transformed mainly by the efforts of that group. Like minded people working together make a massive difference, by which we all benifit . Thank you to all concerned .

We'll done the team at Haigh. I enjoy the benefits of the Friends of Hindley Station and know the difference efforts like this make. We'll done!

Some members from Save Wigan was also up there helping out too, wasn't they.

That pond is fed by a natural spring further up and I always thought that swans swam on there as I'd never heard of fresh water swan mussels, I won't be trying them nor the ocean variety either, creatures within shells can stay where they are, I'll stick with the nuts.

Cyril, swan mussels ARE fresh water mussels, and apparently they taste pretty foul. If you want to "stick with the nuts" why not become a member of FOHCP, we're all nuts LOL.
