Comment by: Ken R on 4th June 2014 at 00:08

Interesting composition, I assume that you are melding the old with the new street line to show what?

Comment by: Alan (on Van Isle) on 4th June 2014 at 00:25

Notice the spelling on the old photo. Was that the right spelling then.
Excellent Andrew.

Comment by: Fred Mason on 4th June 2014 at 09:10

Very clever, Andrew.

Look at the old road condition...and we talk about the 'Good Old Days'.

Comment by: Jod on 4th June 2014 at 09:13

Great idea very well executed, Andrew, well blended too.
Garry, you missed the opportunity to use your favourite word correctly this time, SUPERIMPOSED, because this is the technique Andrew has used to great effect!!

Regarding the spelling, The farm a bit farther up in Bamfurlong is spelt Lilly Land Farm so proberbly like a few streets in Wigan they had their name changed slightly, just depends on the ordinance survey maps. One very good example is the bridge near the Balmoral pub in Hindley it is called Bosden Bridge on the OSM but the Borsdane Brook runs under it .

Another camera trick,

Comment by: Billy Bunter on 4th June 2014 at 12:38

WHAT is wrong with some people????
Every photograph isn't a true reflection of what people see, with different lenses, filters, shutter speeds etc. etc. GET A LIFE Thank GOD I never worked at the same places as you people did. I bet you were a Barrel of Laughs. No doubt moaning to the boss every five minutes. ITS A PHOTOGRAPH and very imaginative one at that. Well done.

An excellent idea superbly executed. Well done Andrew. I have written a timetravel novel called Timegate and used a similar but less adventurous idea for the cover when I published it on Kindle.

Comment by: tom on 4th June 2014 at 16:55

Hi Beryl. You are quite right there was a sweet shop on the corner.I think a lady by the mame of Hill kept it, and next to the shop was the Miner's Hall cenema where I used to go some Saturdays.
