And who will use this garden area - there is one across the way that is not looked after. People have these ideas but factor in that these things need to be maintained. I am all for these areas but I think Wigan falls down on looking after these areas.

Ive noticed since the Wigan Pier night club closed you dont get the same amount of broken glass on those cobbles as you used to.
It will certainly be an improvement on the eyesore that it is now.
Maggie is right about the maintenance issue. I can't help but think that all the work done in Mesnes park will be in vain - eventually.

In its early days one of the Lennon family ,of supermarket fame , was involved with the management of the club,I don't know when that involvement ceased .
The tree has been hacked to death, and what a lovely tree it was, a shame really . . .
