Nice one Mick, you must get up early.

The most photographed bridge is 20 bridges at Standish, the disused railway viaduct on the Whelley loop.
Nice photo Mick.

Garry if you ask most Wiganers where the 20 bridges are they will look at you as though your daft.

I still say this little bridge is the most photographed followed by Gathurst Viaduct,

Comment by: Garry on 9th April 2014 at 09:58

Their the daft ones if they don't know where the bridge is Mick.

I've said it before, & I will say it again, one of my happiest days on the canal was when we ascended these locks on a warm summer Sunday & met so many lovely Wiganers.

I agree Mick... and the 20 bridges are not in Standish

A pleasant tranquil scene, very nice.

I think your right mick
This is the most photographed bridge in wiggin
As you say, most people wont know where the 20 bridges are or 13 bridges

Comment by: Garry on 9th April 2014 at 12:54

People who don't know where 20 bridges is, never leave their door step, and always need a satnav if they drive outside of Wigan.

Comment by: joe graney on 9th April 2014 at 16:36

the 20 bridges are where they have always been.

Comment by: Garry on 10th April 2014 at 09:42

NO joe, only been there since 1869.
