Good photo, like the sillouette effect against the sky. Is it me or does another spire need straightening. Honestly I've not been drinking. Anyone may correct me on the spelling of sillouette by the way.

Just an afterthought John; do you have any family connection with the Ashcroft family in Holland Moor? My maternal grandmother was Esther Ashcroft, born in the 1880s's.

What a fantastic photo - well done John.
Several members of my mothers family have worshiped at St mathews for quite a number of years(Garners).

I think that the spire is tilting to the Moon.

Hi Ellen. Im originally from Upho;;and but the Ascroft in my name originates from Ormskirk.Mick, I do apologise for the photo being all over to the left but the sun was being a little bit akward ;-)

Comment by: Mick on 5th April 2014 at 22:20

No need to apologise to me John just as long as you no where your went wrong.

Only way you could have got the sun in a better position would be to walk over to the right and sometimes thats not possibly.

Stop picking on the composition - it's excellent. The clump of trees stops your eye from wandering and keeps you coming back to the sun and the spire.

Fantastic

A perfect composition... If the steeple was anymore to the middle it would have been all wrong. As it is the eye is led into the picture and wanders around it, which is as it should do.
