Lion
Thanks for the memories, played around that lion on lots of occasions. Do you have a relative named Jack Collier??
Nice picture Michael...Leo is growing a bit of moss....cheers!!!
Every time I go home with my children, I take their photo on Leo. Happy memories.
to all ex wiganner living overseas a suggest you order AZ ATLAS COVERING WIGAN and DISTRICT. I Would not be with out one.
Thank you Michael, i dont remember this, it looks to be a very popular lion with the 'well trodden' area around it. I have been looking back on PaD and just to show how active it has become i compared Oct 2006 with Oct 2013. In Oct 2006, there were 69 comments on 26 photos, less than 3 per photo. In Oct 2013 there were 509 comments on 31 photos more than 16 per photo.
Is this one of the lions that was on Lions Bridge in Leigh - just down from the hospital?
Is it made from Coade stone?
He looks a bit lonely there!
It's Friday but no Photo-a -Day.
I was thinking that same thing Jean
He needs a friend!
No Lee L
, this is not one of the Lions from Lilford park * Liegh* i believe this is One of two that were on top of the old Wigan gas works.
Does anyone have a photograph of the Lions in situ at Wigan Gas Works?
I have read it came from Atherton Hall in 1906
