Ice house foundations
As dirty harry would say, a pile of stones, could be anywhere.
A very pleasant scene Ron. Do you know what this circular structure was?
Ice house, or kennels?
There's a good old pic of it almost intact in an issue of Past Forward.
I think they are the old kennel
Beautiful Ron....the little purple flower just sets it off for me...the whole picture is very nice...cheers!!!
I don't think I've ever seen this. It can't be far from the house?
Pleasant photo Ron, one of two halves. Confusion in the bottom half and serenity in the top half. A Happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to all who subscribe to P-a-D.
Ron you say the foundations of the ice house others say it was kennels which is correct?
The photo Dostaf mentioned is on p.38 of Past Forward, Issue No. 31, Summer 2002:

An interesting photo, thanks, Ron :o)
Both are correct. At first it was an ice house, and later on was used as kennels. It was a cold store before electricity, ice was gathered from ponds around, the walls where insulated with straw. It was said that it kept cool until June .
