New Wash pond
Photo: Neil Cain (Panasonic DMC-TZ9)
Nice pretty picture Neil....love the trees hanging over the pond...well done...cheers!!!
Neil,a lovely tranquil scene ,well done .
Nice scene. Is this the Mowpin Lodge?
beautiful!
Like it .Nice composition with good picture content.
That's a nice shot.
Thanks for the nice comments. I always assumed Mowpin Lodge was the gatehouse just across the lane from this but locals may call this Mowpin Lodge too. The capped pitshaft of New Wash Pit is buried in the trees opposite the cottages along the footpath so this may be a pit lodge.
I think Warrington Anglers called it Mowpin Lodge when they dug it out and cleaned it up and put fishing peg platforms in, the one further up the lane is the carp pool, also owned by Warrington Anglers Club ,nice shot Neil plenty content.
That's lovely Neil, and would look beautiful if it was framed.
Nice one Neil , as kids we used to fish all these ponds ,this one was always clear blue water ,no fish in it .just behind wash pit cottage. the shaft you mention is indeed covered by trees on the left side of the wash pit cottage rd ,between the rd and the old line ,
Good camera work and so close to Wigan too.
Lovely picture,a serene scene. I love all the various shades of green with the sky reflection in the water as a counterpoint.
great photo is this lodge in the field were the windmill is
Brilliant picture Neil, and not one adverse comment !!!
Mowpin lodge is the name of the cottage at the gate, on the left going from New Springs to the hall
Good photograph, well framed Nice shot neil
Jont65.You get to it down the little path right by the Higher Lane bridge that goes to Aspull Moor or if you follow it to the left it goes to Haigh Church, so not quite by the windmill.
Nice picture; taught you all I know
nice lake good photo niel
