Park Lands
Some fine old buildings Ron, once home to the LCC, if I remember right.
Lovely picture Ron....Magnificent building....nice to see people taking advantage of the sunshine....cheers!!!!
Not quite. Parish Church Garden, Crawford St & old County Court Buildings ;o)
That's the Parish Church ???
I thought the Wigan Parish Church was just behind the town centre, and was constructed of grey stone. (I don't remember the street address). This looks more like a school, built of red brick
. Where is it located ?
Maybe I have been away from Wigan for too long . Being on an island surrounded by the glistening waters of the Pacific Ocean is a little hypnotising.
Best regards to all who contribute to Wigan World.
its not all concrete out there
that's a great shot of an often overlooked little spot of greenery in the town centre.
The building looks great from the outside but its run down inside.
The garden is usually a hang out for Wigans down and out winos.
Alan, Ron is stood in the 'churchyard' taking this pic, the church is directly behind him. A great building, totally redundant at the moment. My son met his wife to be when they worked in the County Courts.PS Where is the Citizens Advice Bureau these days which used to be in this building?
Alan see photo-a-day 12 th January 2012
Roy; CAB is in Wigan Life Centre at top of Wiend. See :-

Lovely picture Ron but thankyou Art for the description.....I was completely confused there until I read your note !!Doesnt take much to confuse me these days !
The Citizens Advice Bureau is now in the same building as the main library at the top of The Wiend.
County police station, typist there for many a year.
Alan I put the wrong date should have been the 20th 2012 but by chance my 1st date was where the CAB is now
well said mick this area is badly neglected (litter wise) by the council, cider bottles and food waste stays there all day long, what an eye sore!
Very nicely framed Ron, well done
