Is this around the bend from Top Lock. Brings back memories of my walk from Wigan to Aspull along the canal. In fact I'm still aching from it.

Derek,Just around the bend is New springs bridge,the houses are on Wigan road. Continue on half a mile to top lock.

One of our local girls has opened an "old fashioned " sweetie shop in our little town.All the sweets straight from the jars...looks so good on the shelves and guess what is there ? Uncle Joees mint balls !All this in mach in rural Mid Wales.

We have an "old fashioned" sweetie shop in King's Lynn Norfolk where I get my supply of Uncle Joes. Morrisons used to stock them but haven't found them in there recently.
