They should have called it Spiced Aspull.

Get ready for the stink of stale curry smells first thing in a morning Ron.

Gathurst stinks rotten since they turned the Navvie into a Indian.

Thanks Ron, I went to the Methodist school, just to the right of this pic. Our school meals were made at the Queens Head, we didn't get any Indian tho.

A lot of pubs have been transformed into restaurants in the last few years. It baffles me a bit, how can restaurants afford to stay in business when pubs can't?

Good clear photo Ron ,looks nice and tidy ,suprizing what a lick of paint and a few blue canopys can do .Would'nt expect it to do much, the Red Lion Haigh was a fine example that was a Indian and that died a death and is still boarded up ,well you never know ?.

The one up Haigh Road ( used to be Red Lion )didn't last very long.

Nice pic Ron, It will be interesting to see if it works out for them. I do agree with David Barker though. I saw a for sale sign on the baiging [curry house] was a pub on Liverpool road Hindley. Still a nice pic though Ron

To A W. It's called profit. It's income from sales minus costs and overheads. If there's enough left over you stay in business, if not ..... well you close.

This place will last the plan is to have it open for a long time. When I was speaking to some of the locals they were saying this is something Aspull has needed for a long time. The Buisness owners have a lot of experience in industry and they know how to keep a buisness afloat. We look forward to working with the local community or organise charity events etc.

Too many of these spicy places about. Old English traditional food for me, food you can trust.

My daughter phoned for a take away when it first opened and she said they were really rude on the phone, and the price for take out is same as if you were sitting in. Not good for business they have lost a couple of would be customers before they start. They are staying with India Lounge.
