Nice scene, where is this?

How very pretty. I always loved wildflowers. I'm trying too grow a small patch of wildflowers in a corner of my back yard. (hope it doesn't get cut down by the lawnmower!)

Lizzie, Spring? - it`s supposedly Summer!

Comment by: Helen on 31st May 2013 at 08:24

A very good photo, I like it.

PS I read that ' cheers ' in Australia can mean..Goodbye, Thank you or Good Luck. So I think Lizzie is saying Thank you...

Simple and very effective.

Ken R, this is at the top of Hall Lane and between there and the Rugby Union ground, if you are the same Ken then it's almost a stones throw from the cottage where your sister lived on Sennicar Lane.

It needs to be sunny too David, as it can be quite boggy in places at times.

I love wild flowers and it is indeed a beautiful day!

Summer,Ernest? I thought Summer started at the June equinox! If what you said is true, then we had some snow in Summer! Booh.

Comment by: Ellen on 31st May 2013 at 18:04

Helen, then it is an all-purpose word, much like "ciaou" or "aloha"?

My sort of photo David. I really nice, soothing scene. If you enjoy wild flowers the National Wildflower Centre in Knowsley could be worth a visit. Not beenmyself yet but it is on my list for this summer. I like the word 'cheers' becausethe word itself smiles -if you see what I mean! ee

From Wikiperdia :-
Under meteorological definitions, all seasons are arbitrarily set to start at the beginning of a calendar month and end at the end of a month. This meteorological definition of summer also aligns with the commonly viewed notion of summer as the season with the longest (and warmest) days of the year, in which daylight predominates. The meteorological reckoning of seasons is used in Austria, Denmark and the former Soviet Union; it is also used by many in the United Kingdom, where summer is thought of as extending from mid-May to mid-August.
