Good photo Ron, we used to call this Bridge Pit. Just to the left of the photo was Bridge Pit, the upcast shaft for Dairy Pit. Walked over that many times to go down Bridge or Dairy pits.

that's great - an attempt to create some beauty among the dereliction.

always knew it as 'Bridge Pit Bridge'
the shaft for Bridge Pit was just on the left hand side of the photo
My dad worked there and at the nearby Dairy Pit (I posted a photo on the album section of Bridge Pit but I can't find it)

Nice one Ron, glad you got there at last. And thanks to the gentleman who moved all the cans and other rubbish to plant the flowers a big improvement to what it was like before.

There's an attitude I like! Too bad that there's little of it left, these days. The gardener really does deserve a medal, I agree with you Dave! Would appreciate a later pic., when there are flowers.

kath Pressey he got down there by sliding down two joined together canvas straps.

You can see it on my video, in fact I moved the strap to a better place for him to come back up again when he had finished.
