Beautiful photo Dave. Love the colouring and the pov. I hope it is not going to be filled in peterp - I hate to see anything like this destroyed.

I really hope it doesn't get filled in, no doubt it'll be used to build more houses on it, which we don't really need and I can't see it being turned into a field for kids to play in. Ashton was once full of areas like this, the building of the motorway through half of Skitters Wood ruined a lovely area of land and the same with Woodedge which you'd have to be a millionaire just to afford the houses around there. People think this is progress.

It was all fields when I was a girl...All the Independant Churches and Chapels after the Annual Ashton Walking Day would congregate on those fields at the back of the Caledonion for Prayer, food, fun and games.......

Nice one Dave. I always ride past it on the bike but this has reminded me to have a closer look next time.

A realy nice photograph Dave. I know this area very well indeed ,I was amazed how many houses they got on this peice of land, and always thought what a nice touch it was to develop the duck pound , I hope it's left to prosper .
