Iwonder what the conversation is here!! Would you like to swap you're cheese sandwich for my potted salmon? Nice pic love the seating arrangement and the paving is so neat!!!! Cheers all!!!

They could be spotters waiting for a good "Namer or Number" to pass. Or they could be just waiting for the tide to come in.

Usual question, Mick - when and what time? Have they finally finished the re-furbishment here?
My nephew has just retired from working at Wigan NW after umpteen years.

Where`s the bike, Mick?

In the old Bradshaw`s guide - a very thick book - which had the times of every train, there was a footnote at bottom of pages for Wigan trains :-
" Passengers who travel between Wigan North Western and Wigan Wallgate, do so at their own expense."

They caught the London train, maybe heading for the amazing London Olympics like I was.

To Lizzie Down Under
The paving looks neat and tidy because they have just finished a 40 week refurbishment of the platforms.Give it a few more weeks and it will be back to normal.

Mick, I`ve read the comments which you put on Brian`s Blog yesterday. Have you been in the museum at Portland Basin in Ashton-under-Lyne? This is where the Huddersfield Narrow canal ends (or begins!).

Have they got a picnic? Like sitting in the lay-by on a busy busy road !

Comment by: Mick on 21st September 2012 at 22:23

Ernest no Ive not been into that museum.

Ken R, there are bus spotters on Wigan bus station now and they are adults (male of course) !!

Mick, you`ve not answered my question in comment at 03:46. You must visit Portland Museum which is free. Takes 1 hour and 4 mins.on train from Wallgate to Ashton-u-Lyne and 15 mins. of that is between trains at Man.Victoria. Won`t cost you anything for the bike !
