Canal at Poolstock
Photo: Jeff Haydock (Nikon D40 Tokina 12-24mm)
many a time ive run here training for the London marathon out passed leigh and back .However now in nz missing everyone
When I peddle around that little bend in the tow path I always keep a look out for some drug addict jumping out on me from behind the wall .
Don't know where the Leigh bit came from, it's definitely Poolstock.
The building on the right was the old Poolstock Labour Club, before it moved to the other side of the road. It then had life as a sewing factory, and laterly as a restaurant of every kind Italian ,Chinese, Greek, none seemed to have been successful because of parking difficulties .
It's the Leigh branch because it goes to Leigh where it connects to the Bridgewater canal, and then on to the Trent and Mersey and on and on. Some nice lighting Jeff.
stuffed full of fish this section and i do mean stuffed .
Good colour and detail.
Used to pass this stratch on the way to the Scotsman's Flash and at the time it was pretty black from coal dust I think. Nobody fished this stretch then. I'm pleaseed to hear it now stuffed with fish.
