Muntjac Deer
Photo: John Burns (Sony Alpha A55 SLT, Sigma 70-300mm)
Well caught John.
How can you tell the difference between a Muntjac and a Roe deer.
Lovely photo. I never saw a wild deer at or near Haigh Hall, it must be a thrill to catch a shot like this.
" Down in the forest something stirred ....."
Are there many of them John?
Muntjac were introduced from China to Woburn Park, Bedfordshire in the early 20th century and can breed at 8 months old and all year round.
Great picture but I think you'll find it is a Roe Deer
Some fool might go and take the wrong type of shot !
Oh Deer!
I never knew that there were deer in Haigh Hall. Well spotted John.

Muntjacs are peculier in that they have tusks.I remember them from my zoo keeper days.Good Shot.
