Strolling
This is a different take on "birds". This one is just "swanning" along Trafalgar Rd, minding its own business. Any one got a swan song?.
Well, did this not give rise to the phrase 'to swan off'? Well spotted Alec - how funny.
Another nice selection Brian !! Can the bird lover`s tell us if it`s a cob or pen? Wikipedia ref:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swan
Alec, would this swan have come from the reservoir near to the Cherry Gardens, or possibly the River Douglas?
This was the swan which was on the river Douglas at the bottom of Coppull Lane recently. A chap had seen it in the Swinley area and he picked it up and took it down to the water. It was there a couple of weeks, but has not been there recently. I presume it came from Wigan park originally, so hope it managed to find its way home.
Ernest It;s definitely got a cob on.
Great picture.
Looks like a swan take over.
Certainly one of the most unusual and amusing photos ever seen on Photo-A-Day! Well done Alec.
I asked him for his autograph but he hadn't got a Pen with him....
Is it about to do the hokey - cokey?
"You put your left foot out....."
"OH HELLO" it's just another way of putting a bird picture on . i reckon this is how they think they can get round it .well lets nip it in the bud now before it go's to far. PS those who think im the stinking fat rat who walks round wigan your so wrong.
Where`s Clean Harry got to? Possibly on holiday in the Bahamas? So Fred Mason and myself will have to stay patient for his comment !!
I take back everything that I have said, there actually is a place for Wigan ornithology, this is just a fabulous photo!
Great photo Alec, It looks like a young one, there are some on Scotmans that still haven't turned completely white, well spotted.
I'm here, Ernest.'Get the bird' dirty harry!
As you sure do a lot of squawking...
Ive got a better photo than that, its a swan swimming on a pond next to a submerged car.
Good photo, Alec. May be looking for Swan Meadow..!! and the Dougie
Cheers, Ernest.
Well Alec...you were certainly in the right place at the right time.can`t be said apout the poor swan though, hope he got home ok.
I've made comments about too many birds before but I really like this one. It looks like it's looking for trouble could be looking for Dirty Harry. Great shot Alex thanks
