I was born and brought up at Orrell Post, and lived there for thirty five years. However, I don't recognise anything on the photo.
What is the name of that road and in which direction is the camera facing ?

What is the door number to your house, and what time will you be out?

The road is school lane, photo taken from Upholland facing towards Wigan. ( miniature effect added in camera!)

yet again, this is the real maggie. To the person using my name, grow up, especially making daft jokes like this.

This is where School Lane meets Orrell Road, the daffodils on the right are about 100 yards before the Stag.

little bit of sanity is called for . The road is Orrell Road the direction sign ,white,is on the appraoch to Orrell Post Left is Gathurst road and turn right is Moor road, you can see what is now the car wash at the garage

Has the culinary herb nursery gone and now been built on?

Thanks for the orientation. I recognise it now. I left Orrell Post in 1973 so I think I can be forgiven for being a bit confused !

More thanks for the orientation. I left the area in 1966, and despite travelling there frequently during the 20-plus years before that, this picture looked completely foreign to me!

Jamie, I reckon you must live somewhere near Alma Hill UpHolland to get this view of Orrell Road.
